Continuing to Recognise Indigenous culture

A commissioned artwork has created a central focus for CAPS in it continuing recognition of Indigenous culture.

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, CAPS unveiled a special artwork by renowned Noongar artist Bradley Kickett, with a team gathering at our Welshpool headquarters.

CAPS first met Bradley in February and engaged him to create a work that reflects all CAPS branches around Australia and acknowledges the traditional lands on which they operate.

The piece is called “Coming Together”.

Bradley explained that ‘although CAPS is nationwide, we all still have to work together as a team and it’s also acknowledging the traditional owners and First Nations people. We’re all from different cultures and backgrounds but all share the place and work together.’

After the unveiling, CAPS team members talked with the artist, admired the art and enjoyed morning tea.

CAPS extends our thanks to Bradley, he’s created an outstanding piece that will hang proudly in the main reception area, welcoming people to the CAPS Perth branch.
