CAPS COMPLETES THE MACA CANCER200 RIDE!

On the 16th & 17th of October 2021 CAPS Australia entered a team in the significant charity event called the MACA Cancer200 – Ride for Research.  This saw us cycle for 200kms across two days from Perth to Mandurah, camping overnight, and cycling back. This is a big event with over 1500 riders and many supporting businesses. These businesses include many of our CAPS customers and suppliers.

This ride is raising money to support the world-class cancer researchers at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. The Perkins Institute is working to drive discoveries to help our friends and family battling this terrible disease now and in the future. CAPS’ CEO, Tony Halls says, “The MACA Cancer 200 ride is in its tenth year and has now raised over $35 million. I did the ride last year as well and this whole event is very enjoyable and a very rewarding experience. It was humbling to see over 1,500 cyclists of all shapes and sizes make their way to finish 200kms and doing everything they can to raise money to fight cancer. Thank you to everyone that helped us raise money over the past few months.”

Check out the photo of our team at the finish line with our medals.  From the left: Brandon Scammell who is our main Ingersoll Rand contact, Rhys McIntyre (National Rental Coordinator), Glenn McIntyre (Executive General Manager), and Tony Halls (Chief Executive Officer).

CAPS raised money from both donations, and also via our customers where CAPS donated $50 for every rotary screw compressor and generator purchased over the past three months. A big thank you to everyone who personally donated and our customers for choosing CAPS. Together we can make a difference.

Our goal was to raise $10,000 this year, but we managed to raise over $20,000 which was an amazing result! Overall, the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research raised $7,000,000.

CAPS Australia is a committed supporter of this event and this charity who does such amazing work in trying to prevent diseases which touch us all such as cancer. We have already committed to this event for 2022 and look forward to making it bigger and better next year.
